Critter

CRITTER is a self-taught visual artist based in Belfast, only lifting a spray can for the first time at Belfast Legal Walls in July 2025. After a few years focused on more illustrative poster work, he turned to creating murals as a way to loosen control and test ideas that didn’t fit with his previous practice, designs that felt “too ugly” or “awkward” for commercial designs. His work leans into the exaggerated and the fantastic, featuring a revolving cast of imaginary goblins and creatures.

A newcomer, still early in his street art practice, each piece is an experiment. Their street art is purposefully raw, allowing things to feel slightly off. For CRITTER, the goal is not perfection, it’s a self experimentation and exploration in leaning into the unpolished and unrefined.
