Spoken Word Flight

  • Boundary Taproom 348-350 Newtownards Rd Northern Ireland, BT4 1HE United Kingdom (map)

£20 (includes four half pints)

Flight <definition> 'a sampling of several beers, or of a particular type of food, for the purpose of comparative tasting'

Imagine a beer flight where each beer is the backing track for a story from a local wordsmith. Like 10x9 only drunker. A light pale comedic tale, then maybe a dark stouty horror… we’ll try and avoid the bitter.

This time we’re delighted to be joined lecturer and activist John Barry, Belfast comedy legend Graham Watson and poet Alice McCullough.

As always the bill will be completed by our co-schemer in this centre Paul Hutchinson. Paul is up to his neck in stories – he is a mediator, therapist, writer, film-maker and peace practitioner. His latest book Between the Bells (2019) is a storied exploration of reconciliation. He’s also consistently hilarious, (not that you would know from that bio that he sent us).

Each performer will be paired with a beer and an increasingly drunk introduction from Adam
