Imagine a beer flight where each beer is the backing track for a story from a local wordsmith. Like 10x9 only drunker. A light pale comedic tale, then maybe a dark stouty horror… we’ll try and avoid the bitter.

Our regular Paul Hutchinson is a mediator, educator and creative facilitator. From 2014, he has been a frequent flyer at the acclaimed Tenx9 storytelling events His book, Between the Bells (2019) is a storied exploration of Reconciliation. He is up to his neck in tall and small tales.

This time Paul is joined by John Barry is a father, a political activist, recovering politician, trades unionist, the world’s only Professor of Green Political Economy, and Director of the Centre for Sustainability, Equality and Climate Action at Queens University Belfast. What keeps him awake at night is the life opportunities and future wellbeing of his and other children in this age of the planetary emergency and intersecting social and economic injustices within and between countries. 

Graeme Watson is a writer and performer from the foothills of the Glens of Antrim… or at least that’s what he’s trying to call Larne. A leading light in the foundational days of Northern’s Ireland’s contemporary live comedy scene, Graeme is currently thinking a lot about everyday creativity, happiness, and autonomous killer robots.

Alice McCullough's performance poetry has been described by Stephen Fry as "sensational." She wrote, directed and starred in a critically acclaimed TV adaptation of her “Earth To Alice” show for BBC. Catch her live show at the Féile on 3rd August before she heads off to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Each performer will be paired with a beer and an increasingly drunk introduction from @adamturks
