Flight <definition> 'a sampling of several beers, or of a particular type of food, for the purpose of comparative tasting'
Imagine a beer flight where each beer is the backing track for a story from a local wordsmith. Like 10x9 only drunker. A light pale comedic tale, then maybe a dark stouty horror… we’ll try and avoid the bitter.
This time we’re delighted to be joined by East Belfast writer and our old friend @jancarsonstories. She's published four novels, three short story collections, two microfiction collections and loads of other stuff.
Joining Jan will be @rossmitchellcomedy, a Stand up Comedian who’s been entertaining audiences across the island of Ireland for 13 years with his whimsical brand of hilarious rants, and Rosie Hickey, Heritage Officer of the The Strand , who will celebrate East Belfast's picture house past. Did you know there used to be two rival cinemas right beside where the Boundary Taproom now resides? We can’t wait to find out more.
As always the bill will be completed by our co-schemer in this centre Paul Hutchinson. Paul is up to his neck in stories – he is a mediator, therapist, writer, film-maker and peace practitioner. His latest book Between the Bells (2019) is a storied exploration of reconciliation. He’s also consistently hilarious, (not that you would know from that bio that he sent us).
Each performer will be paired with a beer and an increasingly drunk introduction from Adam
