Hit the North — 2022

  • Kent Street Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT1 United Kingdom (map)

Seedhead Arts and Hennessy is proud to present the 2022 ‘Hit The North’ street art festival. We’re bringing some of the world’s best artists to Belfast for our tenth festival on Union Street and Kent Street. The HTN22 weekend will climax on Sunday 1st May with an international street party in the afternoon, the likes of which Belfast has never seen before on our newly expanded festival site.

Over the last decade HTN has transformed the visual landscape across the city centre and Cathedral Quarter, with over 400 murals painted to date. This year we’ll be adding substantially to that tally. Festival favourites like Irony, Aches, Inky and Andy Council will join our local artists in welcoming some phenomenal international talent to Belfast for the first time. Bust, Lobster, Iota, Curtis Hylton, Sophie Mess, KMG, Hixxy, Kenz and Kitsune will all be flying in to make their festival debuts and frankly we are beside ourselves.

HTN22 will feature 50 local and international artists, with an array of styles and techniques on show. Onlookers will watch as the artworks develop throughout the day, alongside a series of larger murals which will appear during the adjacent weeks. We’ll also have a number of associated events across the weekend thanks to our partnership with the Festival of Fools and the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival.

The best weekend in the Belfast arts calendar just got a whole lot messier.

Hit the North is sponsored by Hennessy NI, Arts & Business NI, Belfast One, Linen Quarter BID and CQ Bid and supported by Belfast City Council, Nobletts of North Street, Graff City & Street Culture for Regions
